Much of western Nebraska and the Panhandle faces abnormally dry to severe drought conditions this fall, with warm and dry weather expected through early October. These conditions heighten the risk of fast-moving fires, especially during harvest when modern farm equipment operates for long hours.

Volunteers have been the long-time champions for the 4-H program, delivering 4-H experiences to youth across the nation for decades. Volunteers bring invaluable skills and resources to their role, dedicating hours to teaching youth new skills and helping them grow as leaders. It is certainly not difficult to visibly see a volunteer’s impact in this way.

Hermsmeyer Detailing officially celebrated its ribbon cutting this past weekend alongside the Central City Area Chamber of Commerce. Despite an overcast sky and clouds that threatened rain, many community members came out to support the business and welcome the young couple behind it to Central City.
