Welcome to February. A month that will be full of excitement and with any luck some mild weather as all of our readers with cattle are certainly needing it after last February.
In advance of this past weekend’s Nebraska Walk for Life rally in Lincoln, a group of about two dozen pro-abortion activists met at the capital to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Editor: It was a real honor for our church to receive a #commUNITY Award from the Chamber of Commerce this past weekend. Besides being a great party, the night helped me clarify a few misconceptions about the monthly food bank with some folks.
Week two has gained more speed than the first week of the Nebraska Legislature. On Monday we finished debating the report that assigns every senator to a standing committee. I am blessed to have been assigned to the Appropriations Committee which tackles the state’s budget.
For those of you betting on me being a goner thanks to Friday the 13th, you had just about as much luck as I did playing the good ol’ Nebraska Lottery on Friday. I am still alive and kicking and glad to be back for another week.
Thank you to the many people who attended the town hall meeting last week concerning the future of Litzenberg Long Term Care. The general feeling is that it was a beneficial meeting and many good ideas were expressed.
