The Central City volleyball team, despite displaying grit and tenacity, faced tough losses in their recent outings. This Tuesday night, the team fell to Wood River in three straight sets. The defeat followed another three-set loss to Centura last Thursday, with scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-19.

In one of the most electrifying games of the season, Central City Bison suffered a gut-wrenching 26-22 loss to the Cozad Haymakers last Friday. The game was a roller coaster from start to finish, with the final 90 seconds experiencing a jaw-dropping three lead changes.

It was an electrifying day on the hills as both the Central City boys and girls cross country teams claimed third place in a fiercely contested meet featuring powerhouses Nebraska Christian and Kearney Catholic.

In a tough outing last Thursday, the High Plains Storm faced off against Central Valley, enduring a 52-6 loss that proved challenging but also revealing.

The Friday night showdown between the Nebraska Christian Eagles and the Heartland Huskies ended with a final score of 34-19 in favor of Heartland. Despite the loss, the Eagles demonstrated areas of great potential and a relentless team spirit that promises much for the season ahead.

Following a three-set sweep of Ravenna, your Lady Bison volleyball team has won their first game in August since 2018.

The Central City Bison have stampeded out of the gate this softball season, sporting an overall record of 6-1. The only blemish on their record comes from a clash with Class B’s Seward.

Central City Bison faced off against Ord in a season-opening match that ended in a 49-29 loss for the Bison. Despite the final score, the game offered glimpses of what the team could achieve as the season progresses.

The High Plains Community sports season got off to a mixed start this week. The Lady Storm volleyball team clinched a big 3-1 victory over Nebraska Lutheran on Monday night, but the High Plains football team suffered a heavy 32-0 defeat to a larger and more experienced BDS squad on Friday night.
