And just like that we see a season that started with eleven area sports teams cut down to the final two teams. It was a roller coaster of emotions for this newspaper publisher this past week as I witnessed some great moments and some that I’ll be happy to forget.

The head louse is a parasitic insect that can be found on the head, eyebrows, and eyelashes of people. They are disease free pests. Head lice feed on human blood several times a day and live close to the human scalp. Head lice are not known to spread disease. Head lice are found worldwide.

American companies are the most innovative and customer- friendly in the world. People have numerous experiences as customers each day, and they’re accustomed to the exceptional service provided in the private sector. They shouldn’t expect any less from their state government.

I feel the need to respond to some of the misunderstandings in regards to Litzenberg Long Term Care. When the hospital moved to its new facilities, Merrick County was left with half of an empty building and the other half of the building is occupied by Long Term Care.

It’s almost Halloween - have enough treats on hand? Pumpkins ready to transform in to Jack-o-lanterns? Porch & yard decorated? Face paint, glow sticks & costumes ready to go? The Merrick County Fairgrounds is the place to be this Halloween Holiday weekend!

What an exciting time to be a bison! Along with the success of the athletic teams and other clubs, we can’t forget about the fantastic work being done inside the classroom by our students as well.

Last week it was election text messages and this week I can’t seem to receive a text message at all, what a life. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I seem to be missing some text messages that have been sent my way this week so just let me say I apologize if I never got back to you.

You may expect me to talk about state softball or a big upcoming football game against Aurora. You may expect me to talk about state cross country or the 8-man playoffs. Well, here comes a curve ball.

With the first quarter completed, we are turning our attention to the winter portion of the school year. As the seasons change we will be finding ourselves indoors more often.
