Taryn Wagner of Archer, was named to the University of Sioux Falls Spring 2025 Dean’s List. Wagner is majoring in Nursing.

The first pre-hospital emergency care in the Central City area was provided by the local funeral home. Solt Funeral Home ran the ambulance service until the early 60’s when Julian & Althea Byers bought the funeral home and took over the ambulance service as well. Byers ran the ambulance service until 1967 when they could no longer continue due to the increasing demands.

Workers took advantage of some rare good weather on Monday to remove the wood-shake roofing material from the Central City Pubic Library. The nine-man crew arrived on Monday morning to begin the two to three day process of removing the twenty-five-year-old roof.

On May 12, Central City’s City Council met for the fifth meeting of the year. Contrary to usual activities, the meeting was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. instead of the usual 7 this time, as multiple members of the council were planning to attend the school concert being held at the Performing Arts Center that night.
