Governor Pillen will visit Central City and Clarks tomorrow (Friday, May 16th) for ribbon-cutting ceremonies in each community. The public is invited to attend each event. The Governor and others will gather at 1808 Ash Avenue (Central City) at 3:30 pm to celebrate the completion of new Rural Workforce Housing (RWH) projects with local leadership. An open house will also be held beginning at 3:00 pm for the public to tour the new home. Central City’s ribbon-cutting event celebrates one of 31 housing units funded with RWH dollars in the development area.

Despite a $2 billion decline from 2022, Nebraska’s agricultural exports totaled $7.9 billion in 2023, marking the third-highest export year on record. That’s according to a Nebraska Farm Bureau’s annual Agriculture and International Trade Report released today.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is collecting data from approximately 4,100 Nebraska farmers and ranchers for its annual Agricultural Resource Management Integrated Screening Survey (ARMS). The survey looks at all aspects of U.S. agricultural production, the well-being of farm households, farm finances, chemical usage, and various farm production characteristics. The survey also collects detailed information on production practices, costs, and returns for different commodities on a rotating basis. In 2025, the survey will take a closer look at cotton and potato production in the United States.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins today announced a second round of payments coming this week for specialty crop producers through the Marketing Assistance for Specialty Crops (MASC) program, providing up to $1.3 billion in additional program assistance. U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) already delivered just under $900 million in first round payments to eligible producers.
