Body For the 50th year Central City will host their annual cross country invitational and for the second year it will be named the Roger Nielsen Cross Country Invite, named after the long-time Bison coach.

Lady Bison continue to win ahead of big week

Body Winning streaks are always fun and that is where the Central City High School softball team finds themselves currently in the season. After a pair of losses, the Lady Bison finished August with a win and remain perfect in September riding a seven-game winning streak.
En Fuego The Bison softball team has been on a roll and so has Caleigh Botsch. On Monday and Tuesday Botsch went a combined seven of eight at the plate with a homerun, triple, double and six RBIs to help lead the Bison.

Body For the High Plains Community Storm football team, the season did not get off to the start they had hoped for, but that was all behind them as they regrouped for a big homecoming battle with East Butler.

Eagles sweep Storm in battle of winning teams

Body Both Nebraska Christian and High Plains Community have found plenty of wins on the volleyball court this season, but on Thursday the teams found themselves battling each other in the annual showdown of area teams.

Body Daily Activity Report Monday, September 5 Officer responded to a dog complaint in the area of Highway 30 and 16th Street, situation resolved. Officer responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 900 block of 16th Street, did not locate vehicle in the area.

City Council holds busy meeting

Body The September meeting for the City Council of Central City can also be a busy one as it often brings with it preparation for the next fiscal year and budget conversations.
