Sometimes the best education a student can find comes from an alternative and untraditional approach to education.

As we head closer and closer to Halloween there is plenty of talks of cemeteries and spooky things that go bump in the night. For the Merrick County Historical Museum, the spooky season was the perfect time to take a historical look at the Holden Section of the Central City Cemetery.

From 5:00 to 7:00 pm each Thursday, multiple local retailers are opting to keep their doors open late to allow shoppers an opportunity to get into stores that would be otherwise closed during that time.

Kyle Berck has achieved a level near that of a local legend with the success he has found in the world of racing. With a long career spanning 40 years, he has won many races, including 18 racing series championships and over 350 feature wins.

In the dirt track racing world the Berck name is one that rivals the best of them after four decades of success on the track.

Monday night the City Council of Central City met for the regularly scheduled meeting. Although the meeting came a week later then normal, there was still plenty of big decisions to be made by the Council.

Nearly one year ago Bing’s Pets was welcomed into the Central City retail family as the once online only retailer opened their very own brick and mortar location on the east end of Central City.

As we move into the fall season that will bring with it plenty of tricks and treats, one retail location is gearing up for a “spooktacular” party this “Howl-o-ween” here in Central City.
