Nebraska Farm Bureau to Announce New Health Plan for Members

Members of the news media are invited to participate in a news conference at Husker Harvest Days to introduce a new and exclusive option for the Nebraska Farm Bureau Health Plans which can provide more affordable health premiums at costs that are significantly lower than the federal marketplace. Farm Bureau Health Plans of Tennessee is the third-party administrator for the new Nebraska Farm Bureau Member Health Plans.

MCCGA holds annual Corn Plot Tour

The Merrick County Corn Growers Association held its annual Corn Plot Tour on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, bringing together about 50 people at the Herbig Bros Shop just north of Central City. The evening offered an opportunity for local farmers to connect, enjoy a meal, and hear from State Senator Loren Lippincott, who addressed the economic and regulatory challenges currently facing the agriculture industry.

As the Merrick County Historical Museum approaches completion, there are still numerous naming opportunities available, and donations are both needed and welcomed.

Supervisors hold regular meeting

The Merrick County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, with the future of the Litzenberg Memorial Long-Term Care facility continuing to dominate discussions. Board members revisited the decision made last month not to place a bond issue for a new facility on the November ballot. During the meeting, it was proposed that a special election be held in January 2025 for the bond, but this would require a 90-day notice. The board ultimately decided to reevaluate the situation after the November election, particularly considering school bond issues in the Palmer and Twin River districts.

This May, he will graduate with the class of 2025, marking the culmination of his academic career and a significant milestone in his 11-year scouting journey.
