Merrick Foundation wraps up 2022 fiscal year

Merrick Foundation is proud to announce it recently awarded $35,033 in its final grant cycle of the year. In their recently completed fiscal year, Merrick Foundation’s Board of Directors awarded a total of $211,830 in discretionary grants. In addition to these discretionary grants, Merrick Foundation distributed approximately $975,000 in scholarships and designated grants throughout the year, making total distributions well over $1 million. Homolka receives stipend for fall research project at UNL

Cayden Homolka of Central City is among 202 Husker undergraduates who have been awarded stipends by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to participate in research with a faculty mentor this summer. Homolka, a sophomore prehealth major, will participate in the project “Identification of New Chloroviruses with Unique Glycans Attached to Their Major Capsid Proteins” as part of Nebraska’s Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience (UCARE) Program, which supports undergraduates to work with faculty mentors in research or creative activities.
