Kent Herbert Bankson, 80, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at Bryan Medical Center East after a short but courageous fight with cancer. Born on January 30, 1945, in Aurora, Kent was the oldest of four children raised on the family farm.

William “Bill” L. Foulk, 60, of Grand Island, died on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Emerald Nursing & Rehab Lakeview in Grand Island.

KoAnn K. Nelson, 62, of Central City, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Central City.

Carol Lynn (Polzkill) Volesky, 74, of Byron, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2025 in Lincoln. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

Carolyn J. (Paulsen) Matthie, 91, died peacefully on August 11, 2025, in the wonderful care of the staff at Crane Gardens Memory Care, with visits from her family prior to her passing. She held dear both her family and her faith in Jesus Christ.

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Derik Richard Brummet, better known by many as “Uncle Buck.” Derik left us on August 21, 2025, at the age of forty-two. Born in Kearney, Derik was someone who could light up any room.
