Central City pork producer Mark McHargue explains features of his new swine barn to Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman during the Governor’s visit to Central City to proclaim Merrick County a Livestock Friendly County. The McHargue Brothers Pork 5,000 head wean-to-finish facility is under final construction east of Central City.

The Nebraska Corn Board (NCB) and Nebraska Soybean Board (NSB) have partnered together for the 2024 Stand Up 4 Grain Safety Week because everyone deserves to go home from work each day. The goal is to raise awareness among farmers and agricultural workers about the importance of safety when working in and around grain bins. This initiative also emphasizes the significance of overall safety practices on the farm.

As Nebraskans are further removed from where their food, fiber, and energy are grown, it is important for Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers to share their story with state legislators. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s (NEFB) Promotion and Education (P&E) and Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Committees, which are made up of farmers and ranchers across the state, did just that during National Agriculture Week.
