On Monday night the Central City FFA Chapter presented new members with their first FFA Jacket in a special ceremony. The Merrick County Corn Growers Association and other various sponsors presented jackets to students while also covering the cost of the jacket.

Central City honors local veterans with banners, parade, and memorial service

Veterans Day in Central City was marked by a series of respectful tributes, beginning with a morning talk by Army veteran Brent Kennedy, a solemn afternoon service, and culminating in the return of the traditional parade along Highway 30. Organized by American Legion Post #6 Auxiliary, and installed by the City of Central City and Southern Public Power District, this year’s celebration featured newly displayed Hometown Heroes banners around town, adding depth to the event’s sense of honor and remembrance.
