10 YEARS AGO Nebraska Game and Parks, with the assistance of the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, were able to identify and cite three Hall County individuals for abandonment of waste, which is a Class III misdemeanor. Two of the individuals had been cited for illegally shooting Sandhill cranes, while the third had just been involved in searching out a way to dispose of the remains.

BASKETS were overflowing last week, even as a large crowd of eager egg hunters participated in the Central City Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. The event, which was held in Clarke Park, featured multiple age groups hunting for treats.

Conference connects state’s young leaders

More than 100 young farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness professionals gathered for the Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Conference to develop leadership skills, discuss industry trends, and tackle the issues shaping agriculture in Nebraska today. The conference was held in January at the Younes Conference Center South in Kearney.
