History of the Central City Ambulance

Body The first pre-hospital emergency care in the Central City area was provided by the local funeral home. Solt Funeral Home ran the ambulance service until the early 60’s when Julian & Althea Byers bought the funeral home and took over the ambulance service as well.

Historical Museum prepares for long-awaited move

Body The Merrick County Historical Museum is about to begin the monumental task of moving its entire collection of artifacts into its brand-new building. With construction complete and the facility officially up to code, the long-awaited transition will begin at the end of the month.
Museum Director Schavon Cordsen shares some of the items that will be moved from storage sites to the new museum in the near future.

Body Workers took advantage of some rare good weather on Monday to remove the wood-shake roofing material from the Central City Pubic Library. The nine-man crew arrived on Monday morning to begin the two to three day process of removing the twenty-five-year-old roof.
