Locals take part in area parade

For 80 years now the normally sleepy early morning streets of Grand Island have come to life with the sites and sounds of our areas largest parade. The day is a big one for many, including many local residents who make their way to Grand Island each year for the Harvest of Harmony Parade.

10 Years Ago Former Merrick County Sheriff, Merrick County Supervisor and 60 year member of the Central City Volunteer Fire Department, Daniel Roy “Dan” Schneiderheinz died on Monday at the Veteran’s Hospital.

Daily Activity Report Monday, September 19 Officer responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Highway 14 and 13th Street, officer followed vehicle no violations observed. Officer responded to a citizen assist in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue, Situation resolved.
