Last Thursday proved to be a windy, but beautiful day for the annual Roger Nielsen Central City Cross Country Invitational as the rain stayed away long enough for the event to complete.
Next Up: Fort Calhoun (2-1) The Pioneers are a bit of a new face for the Bison to match up with as only the Kernels baseball team typically has them on their schedule. Fort Calhoun had a big season a year ago, but graduated a large senior class and looks to build off of that momentum.

Coming off of a hard-fought battle with Heartland the Nebraska Christian Eagles looked to use that momentum to their favor as they hit the road to face Wisner-Pilger last Friday night. Both teams came ready to play and once again the Eagles found themselves locked in a battle.

The Central City High School football team hit the road last Friday as they were searching for their first win of the season. Across the field was the Cozad Haymakers who also were looking for their first win of the season after having opened the season with a lost to the McCook Bison.
If you look at the record of the Central City High School volleyball team it appears that the team is in similar shape to what they have been in recent season, however many Bison fans got their first opportunity to watch the team play on Tuesday night.
For the second week in a row the High Plains Community Storm have found themselves in the ball game at the completion of the first quarter, but then fail to keep pace as the game goes along.
