Each year the McMahon Family (right) returns to Kernel Field to host the annual Tom McMahon Memorial Tournament. Tom was not only a leader in the community, but also a proud supporter of Central City American Legion Post #6 baseball while serving in multiple roles. This year the tournament would have certainly brought a smile to McMahon’s face as the Pinnacle Bank Juniors defeated David City 8-0 and Sutton 13-5 as they were named champions of the tournament. The team now sits 17-0 on the season and will look to finish strong as they look ahead to postseason action with a league championship, area tournament and potentially a return to the state tournament. The weekends this summer have been full of softball action and for the Cornerstone Stampede they have also been full of wins. This past weekend the program sent four teams to Wahoo to represent Central City.

The past week was a triumphant one for Central City American Legion Post #6 Juniors and Seniors baseball teams, culminating in an impressive display against Aurora on Sunday. As the undefeated Pinnacle Bank Juniors gear up for the annual Tom McMahon Memorial Tournament this weekend, the teams reflect on their recent successes and look ahead with determination and enthusiasm.

This Wednesday, Central City’s youth baseball teams face off in what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the regular season of Big Ten League baseball action. The 8U, 10U, and 12U teams will battle for bragging rights and town supremacy, with each matchup bringing its own story of successes and challenges.

The Central City American Legion Post #6 teams have wrapped up another fantastic week on the diamond. Both the Cornerstone Seniors and the Pinnacle Bank Juniors displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, solidifying their positions as formidable contenders this season.
