Suzanne Kay Brunken of Clarks passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island at the age of 78.

Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Clarks. Burial will be in the Clarks Cemetery.

She is survived by her dear husband of 58 years, Louis Brunken, who now resides at Westfield Nursing Home in Aurora.

Suzy graduated from Nebraska Christian High School in Central City in 1963. She worked for IEC Sensors in Aurora before retiring.

Suzy organized all the family gatherings. She loved her church family and participated in many activities. She had an extensive doll collection and crocheted many baby blankets for family and friends. She loved to do Diamond art.

Suzy often visited Louis in the nursing home with their little poodle Sparkle, which brought him much joy.

Left to mourn are her five brothers: brother Robert McDonald, and his children Janna (Steven) Schrunk, Troy (Jennifer) McDonald, and Michelle Wengler; brother Larry (Nancy) McDonald, and son Bill (Chris) McDonald; brother Kenneth (Ducker) McDonald and children Renee (Jim) Gavin and Dawn McDonald, brother John McDonald, and son David (Shannon) McDonald; and brother Tim McDonald, and children Kristy and Dusty. Also feeling the loss are brother-in-law Carl (Terry) Brunken, sisters-in-law Fern (Peter) Boldt, Irene Johnston and Karen Tholen, many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

She is predeceased by her parents Lyle and Wilma (Biskborn) Mc-Donald, sister-in-law Shirley McDonald and nieces Wendy and Melissa McDonald. She is also preceded in death by parents-in-law Milton and Louise Brunken, brothers-in-law Robert Johnston, Ronald Tholen, and Richard Brunken, sisters-in-law Marrianne Longenecker and Sharen Brunken, and nephew Wayne Brunken.
