Susan Rita Sweet August 8, 1946 - February 12, 2025

Susan Rita Sweet, 78, of California, passed away peacefully, in her sleep after a long battle with cancer on February 12, 2025.

Susan was born August 8, 1946 to Alfred and Rita (Goerl) Sweet of Clarks. Susie was raised on a farm and attended Clarks Public School and graduated in 1964. She attended Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Kearney and she worked at Fullerton Nursing Home after graduation. Susie was hired by United Airlines as a stewardess in 1968 and flew for 35 years. During that time, she flew Medevac trips for the US Air Force during the Vietnam war, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. She was honored to receive a Civilian Medal from the Air Force in April of 1993. Susie started a business named, Sweet Lane Wholesale Nursery, in Santa Rosa, Calif. in 2000, and partnered with a close friend to open Sweet Lane Gardens Wedding venue in 2013, located on the same property.

Susie is survived by her sister, and brother-in-law, Sally A. and Jack Neel of Clarks; brother Ed A. Sweet of Clarks; and sister-in-law Coleen Sweet of Clarks and 11 nieces and nephews. Also, survived by numerous close friends all of which loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Alfred and Rita Sweet; sister-in-law,Sue Sweet; beloved brother, Jack Sweet all of Clarks.
