Roy V. Leaming Jr., 87, of Central City, died Monday, January 2, 2023 at Cottonwood Estates in Central City. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home with Pastor David Ohlman officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 6 from 1:00 p.m. till service time. Interment will be at Burke Cemetery by Central City.

Roy Vance was born February 20, 1935 to Roy and Maza (Anderson) Leaming in Omaha where he grew up and attended school. Roy joined the United States Army and served from 1957 to 1959. He was united in marriage to Judy Ann Nitzel in Archer on June 12, 1966. The coupled made their home in Olathe, Kansas until 1985 when they moved to Central City. Roy worked in Grand Island at the Nebraska State Patrol office as the Maintenance Manager.

In his free time Roy enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, and was an avid Husker fan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Debra and David Ohlman of Polk, Daniel andAmy Leaming of Johnstown, CO, and Brian and Melissa Leaming of Port St. Lucie, FL; his sister, Marilyn Roberts of Blair; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his parents; and his siblings, Herb Leaming, Maza Fergusson, Grace Judah, and Shirley Brockman.
