Richard Anthony Wruble

Richard Anthony Wruble, 86, of Clarks died Wednesday, July 25, 2024 at his home. Funeral services were Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clarks with Father Mark Cyza and Father Bill L’Heureux officiating. Visitation was Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Richard was born on December 3, 1937 to Emil and Lucille (Krzycki) Wruble in Genoa. He grew up in the Genoa area and attended grade school there. He moved to Clarks in 1951 and graduated from Clarks High School in 1955. He worked for Harold Beck Land Leveling and farmed before serving in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 in the 1st Armor Division. He was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas and spent time in Florida during the Cuban crisis.
He married Norma Jean Glaser on September 3, 1969 in Spalding at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Richard was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and served on the Calvary Cemetery Board. He served two terms as a Merrick County Supervisor. His family was his greatest joy. He also enjoyed gardening, Husker sports, and attending the grandkid’s activities.
Richard is survived by his wife- Norma of Clarks; daughter- Jean (Darrel) Bradford of Syracuse; Cindy (Jerel) Katen of Dunbar; and son-Jerry (Sheri) Wruble of Clarks; sisters- JoAnn (Al) Sutko of McKinney, TX; Yvonne Cyza of David City; brothers- John Wruble of Sutherland; and James (Laurie) Wruble of Clarks; eight grandchildren- Grant and Nicole Bradford, Bryce (Kayla) Katen, Cassie (Nguyen) Nguyen, and Owen (Anna) Katen, Brendan Wruble, Kenzie Wruble, and Evan Wruble; 1 great grandson- Theodore Katen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter- Lisa; brother in law- Ron Cyza; sister in law- Mary Wruble.
