OBITUARIES

August 31, 1937 - February 16, 2025

Phyllis “Joan” Ceder, 87, of Central City, died Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Brookfield Park Nursing Home in St. Paul. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home with Pastor Doug McHargue officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Burke Cemetery near Central City.

Phyllis “Joan” Ceder Joan was born on August 31, 1937 in Archer to William and Lillie (Eckert) Nitzel. She grew up in theArcher area and graduated from Archer High School. She then attended Central Community College and received herAssociates Degree in Nursing. Joan married William “Bill” Ceder on February 7, 1960 in Archer. She began as a Nurse’sAide and then returned to school and got her LPN License. She spent all of her working career in Central City. Joan attended Grace Lutheran and United Methodist Churches. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Joan enjoyed playing cards and caring for all kinds of animals. She also enjoyed caring for her garden and flowers.

She is survived by her children- Tony Ceder of Casper, WY; Melodie Carlin of Fullerton; and Faith Oberg of Fullerton; her grandchildren-A.W. Ceder, Ethan Ceder, Katie (Zachary) Zdorik, Sara Oberg, Emma Ceder, Cody Clark, Michael Oberg, and Tyler Carlin; great grandchild-Adelaide Zdorik.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother-William H. Nitzel; sister- Judy Leaming; son- Thomas Ceder; son in law- Donald Carlin.
