Patricia was born on June 17, 1959 in Grand Island to Laurence and Mary (Nelson) Fishler. She grew up in the Central City area and graduated from Central City High School in 1977.
After her graduation, she moved to California to live with her sister Rhonda. While there she met Martin Manandik, Sr. and they were united in marriage on November 6, 1978 in California.
They made their home in California for ten years, before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado. They remained in Colorado for a couple of years, until moving back to Central City in the early 1990s. While in Central City, Patricia worked at Waffles-N-More, Alberston’s in Grand Island, Perkin’s in Grand Island, and later the VA Medical Center in Grand Island until her health would no longer allow her to work. She also went back to school, and received her associate’s degree in social sciences from Central Community College.
Patricia’s faith was very important to her, reading her Bible daily.
Patricia was also politically active, but her greatest love was for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Martin Manandik, Jr of Central City and Elizabeth (Aaron) McKillip of Central City; her siblings, Donna Eckstrom of Omaha, Don Fishler of Central City, Jo Rourke of Omaha, Janet (Jim) Masat of St. Paul, Bob Fishler of Palmer, and Rhonda Cain of Central City; four grandchildren (Phoebe Bolin, Akela Strickler, Michael McKillip and Kalauni Manandik) and two great-grandchildren (Lillianna and JJ Bolin). Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin Manandik, Sr.; son, Matthew Manandik; and brother, John Fishler.
