Lewis Edward Barnett, at the age of 80 years, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in Central City. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Burke Cemetery near Central City with Trent Wagner officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com.

Lewis was born on March 25, 1945 to Ruby Barnett (Vance) in Welch, West Virginia. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Army where he served actively from March of 1963 to March of 1966 and remained on the reserve list until March of 1969. While living in Paso Robles, California he met Linda Lovejoy (Lambert) and they were united in marriage on November 18, 1967. They returned to West Virginia in 1972 and welcomed a daughter, Cynthia Susanne, on April 26, 1973. Lewis worked in construction and at Twin Falls State Park where he retired from in 2008. After retiring he moved to Nebraska to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. Lewis’favorite things were being at home, watching old television shows, twinkies, and vanilla milkshakes.

Lewis is survived by his daughter Cynthia (Kevin) Wall, grandsons; Kolbe and Chase Owens, brothers; Roger Vance, Jack Vance, Ernest Vance, sister; Debra Vance, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Ruby Vance, step-father; Troy Anderson Vance, brother; Johnny Vance, his sisters; Alice Miller and Jill Hodges.
