Kenneth was born on March 4, 1943 to Leonard and Doris (Lockard) Aerni in Richland. When he was four years old, the family moved to their farm near Central City. Ken graduated from Central City High in 1961. On October 26, 1962 he was united in marriage to Patricia Callihan in Grand Island. They made their home in Central City, where Ken farmed and raised cattle until his retirement in 1995. During his retirement they would winter at Lake Havasu. Ken also enjoyed going to the horse races, and owned several race horses throughout his life. He was always up for any kind of card game, but he was a farmer at heart and frequently attended cattle auctions or would watch them online, and you could always find him doing something out on the farm.

He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Central City. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pat of Central City; his children, Kenny (Janet) Aerni, Jr of Marquette, Jodi (John) Burdg of Stafford, KS and Amy (Dan) Goheen of Lincoln; his brother, Ron (Jayne) Aerni of Sudbury, MA, seven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sonja Aerni and Janette Meyer.
