Frances “Fran” L. Larsen April 20, 1941 - July 6, 2024

Frances “Fran” L. Larsen, 83, of Central City died Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Litzenberg Long Term Care in Central City. Memorial services will be Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial of ashes will be in the Central City Cemetery.

com. Frances was born on April 20, 1941 to Ralph and Lois (Maass) Shoup in Onida, South Dakota. She married Garry “Hook” Hillmer. To this union were two daughters - Barb and Julie, two sons- Garry and Bill. She then married Walt Larsen. To this union was a son - Doug Larsen. Frances worked various jobs such as The Independent Club, Wheelers, and others until she retired.

Fran enjoyed her time with family. Her home was the holiday gathering place every year. Her passions included collecting angels and black hills gold. She also had an unending love of caring for her own and many other unwanted animals. When others had doubts, she said, “All you have to do is Believe”! That was her life philosophy.

She is survived by her five children- Barb (Kenny) Lautenschlager of Valley; Julie (Ron) Kula, Garry (Connie) Hillmer all of Central City; Bill (Missy) Hillmer of Palmer; and Doug Larsen of Central City; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; 1 brother.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and 1 grandson- Tyler “Hook” Hillmer.
