Donna M. Volquardsen, 93, of Central City, formerly of Norfolk, died Monday, December 30, 2024 at Litzenberg Long Term Care in Central City. Memorial services will be Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Paulsen officiating. Burial of ashes will be at a later date.

com. Donna was born on July 11, 1931 to William Ward and Merle (Haswell) Crabtree in Wausa. She grew up in the Norfolk area and attended Norfolk schools. She married Warren Dale Volquardsen on May 15, 1949. Donna and Warren moved to several homes around Norfolk. Donna worked at the Norfolk Sale Barn in the Paddock (western store) for several years. She also worked at West Gate Pharmacy as well as helped people in their homes and Warren on the farm. In later years, Donna and Warren purchased and ran the Old Home Market south of Norfolk. They always enjoyed serving their customers and treating their regulars.

Donna was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Norfolk. She enjoyed being on a bowling league, playing cards, going to the horse races, playing bingo, and especially spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her son- Robert (Bob) and Andrea Volquardsen of La Puente, CA; sister- Cloydette Cox of Boise, ID; 6 grandchildren-Becky (David) Butscher, Leah (Brett) Zikmund, Justin Volquardsen, Bobbie Sue (Dave) Pickering, Stacey (Larry) Thompson and Kim (Rod) Nelson; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son- Rodney Volquardsen; sister- Janelle Kanter; sister- Dolores Dahlkoetter; nephew- Danny Dahlkoetter; and infant nephew- Doug Dahlkoetter.
