Donald Stiefel, 88, of Lincoln, passed away on June 24, 2026. He was born on June 4, 1938 in Richwood California to Helmuth and Anna Stiefel and was one of eleven children.
Donald is survived by his three children, Kevin (Gwen) Stiefel of North Platte, Laurie (Dave) Clemans of Roca, and Brenda (Mark) Cole of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Vivadell Rogers of California and Marlene Lewis of Texas, and other family members and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, JoAnn; parents, Helmuth and Anna Stiefel; three brothers, Elmer, Charles, and Milo; five sisters, Cordella, Bernice, Glendora, and Donna; and grandson, Joshua Clemans.
Donald worked in the manufacturing industry for most of his life. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. Donald loved music, old convertible cars, traveling by car to see the countryside, and was a proud American. In his later years, Donald loved spending quality time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.
Donald married JoAnn Hohn on July 22, 1960, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, South Dakota. They had three children: Kevin, Laurie, and Brenda.
Donald’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a graveside memorial on August 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to join for a luncheon at 1:00 p.m. at the Hamilton County Senior Center in Aurora. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-Mcquiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made in care of the family for future designation. Donald will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
