Ronald Dean Dankert, 72, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on June 16, 2026.

Ron was born in Central City, Nebraska on May 6, 1954 to Alred and Elienn (Fleischaker) Dankert. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Central City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be at the Independent Club at 3:00 p.m.

Ron married Shelly Maxson on October 10, 1981. They have one son, Matthew Dankert.

Ron loved spending time with his family. He loved golfing, hunting,

and playing cards with his long-time buddies.

Ron is survived by his wife; son, Matthew and his wife Crystal; grandchildren, Josie and Lucas; sisters, Betty (Clint) Hansen, Dee Sautten, and Carol Wilcox; brother- in-law, Byron (Sue) Maxson; sister-in-law, Lori (Kevin) Senkbile; father-in-law, Eldon Maxson; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Dankert; mother-in-law, Shirley Maxson.
