Patricia Anne Romsdal (known as Patty to everyone that knew her), 92, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at Aurora Memorial Community Care surrounded by family on February 5, 2026.

Patty was born November 19, 1933, in Hordville, to Vern and Edna (nee Beetum) Jones. Later, Patty would be joined by two sisters, Janice and Marilyn, and a brother, Larry. She attended Polk High School, graduating in 1951.

On May 2, 1954, Patty married Howard Romsdal and they moved to Bradshaw, where they lived for sixty years raising their family, which was always the number one priority for Patty. The couple moved to Aurora in 2015.

Patty always enjoyed being around children.

She loved doting on them, didn’t matter if they were family or not.

She, of course, loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If it was playing a game or just watching them do activities, she was always willing. If you stopped to see her, she would always have a story about one of the kids.

Patty also had many hobbies. She enjoyed lots of crafts, with crocheting being one of her favorites. She would share her created items with family and everyone participating in craft fairs in the Bradshaw area. The hobby that she was known most for was her baking. She loved making rye bread with her daughters and granddaughters in the winter and baking and decorating all kinds of cakes from birthday to weddings.

Aside from family, her faith was very important to Patty.

She was a member at Bradshaw United Methodist Church and would attend services in Hordville when visiting family and friends.

All that knew or met her instantly loved Patty. She will be missed but we know there are many people waiting for her above.

Patty is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, John Howard Romsdal; her parents; sisters and brother; and her grandson, Ethan Romsdal.

Patty is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Matt) Hoffman of Waite Park, Minnesota and Barbara (Terry) Giese of Hickman; sons, Gregory (Lynn) Romsdal of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and Alan (Shari) Romsdal of Spring Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren, Josh (Jessica) Hoffman, Jake Hoffman, Jeremy Giese, Tyler (Sandi) Giese, Sara (Russ) Gallian, Laura Davis, Tanner (Katelyn) Romsdal, Nathan Romsdal, and Nicholas Romsdal; great-grandchildren: Madison Gallian, Jacob Gallian, Noah Gallian, Hannah Gallian, Lucas Hoffman, Joseph Hoffman, Mercedes Giese, Marley Giese, Willow Giese, Selby Davis, and Wells Romsdal; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Aurora East Park Villa and Memorial Community Care for their loving care of our mom.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at the Bradshaw United Methodist Church in Bradshaw. Inurnment was in the Plainfield cemetery in Bradshaw. Patty has been cremated there was no viewing or visitation.
