Doris Jean Fuehrer, 93, of Central City, died on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Merrick Medical Center in Central City.

Funeral services were held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Michelle Reed officiating. Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home.

Doris was born on June 25, 1932 in Carson, Iowa to Robert and Helen (Chancellor) Rutherford.

Doris moved to Central City (Lone Tree) at the age of seven and has resided in Central City since that time. Doris attended school in Central City and graduated from Central City High School in 1950.

After she graduated, she married August (Rusty) Fuehrer Jr. on September 24, 1950 in Central City. All their married life they lived in Central City.

Doris worked at Jim’s Foods in the meat department for thirty-one years. She also volunteered at the thrift store.

In her spare time, Doris enjoyed quilting, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Doris was a member of United Methodist Church in Central City and the U Go I Go Extension Club.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy (Kathy) Fuehrer of Clarks, Terry (Janice) Fuehrer of Lexington, and Kurt (Lanie) Fuehrer of St.

Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Manchester of Grand Island, Amber (Justin) Kohl of Columbus, Kyle (Michelle) Fuehrer of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kelsey (Alex) Steffens of Lincoln, and Austin (Jordan) Fuehrer of Kearney; great grandchildren, Zandyr, Cruz and Dash Kohl of Columbus, Claire Manchester of Grand Island, Beckett Fuehrer of Kearney, Aara Fuehrer of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Eli Stephens of Lincoln; brother, Larry Rutherford of San Diego, California; and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeding Doris in death were her parents; husband, Rusty Fuehrer; brothers, Robert, Lowell, and Duane Rutherford; sister, Shirley Newby; in-laws, August and Rosie Fuehrer and Betty Rutherford; and great grandchild, Creighton Kohl.
