Services for Carolyn Sue Falk, of Norfolk were October 12, 2024 at First United Mehtodist Church in Norfolk the with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, Norfolk under direction of Home For Funerals.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Carolyn was born on December 20, 1944, In Central City to Claribel Huston Smith and Harold Donald Smith and passed away In Norfolk. She spent early years of childhood cared for by her maternal grandparents, Walter & Ruth (Smith) Huston near Clarks.

Carolyn’s school years began at Country School #35 in Merrick Co. and later attended Dist #8 West of Central City. Carolyn graduated from Central City High School In 1962. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, In Lincoln.

On December 29, 1963, Carolyn married Ladd M. Reeves in Chapman where they farmed and were blessed with four children.

In 1981 Carolyn began a rewarding career with the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Grand Island which later took her to Battle Creek, Ml; Lincoln and Salisbury, NC where she retired from the Federal Government in 2001. After moving to Salado, TX for five years she returned to Lincoln for five years before moving to her husband’s hometown of Norfolk.

On May 29, 1993, Carolyn married Willis J. Falk in the chapel at Stuhr Museum, Grand Island. They were blessed with their blended families of 8 grown children and spent enjoyable time with them In retirement. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooklng and keeping .in touch with family and friends.

Carolyn was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Norfolk; Held several offices of Church Council and President of United Women of Faith as well as Women’s Connection of Norfolk.

Carolyn’s 4 grown children are Douglas (Kathy) Reeves of Central City, Kurt (Bridgette) Reeves of Central City, Carmen (Simon) Lester of Gretna and Julie Huthinson of Lincoln. Also, four step-children, Cindy (Richard) Doffin of Hoskins, Tammy (Alan) Neuhaus of Norfolk, Kevin (Kate) Falk of Hoskins and Michelle (Mike) Hamilton of Abilene, KS along with 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren who cherish many memories. Carolyn enjoyed her 8 cousins very much who loved reminding her she was the eldest.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Ruth & Walter Huston; her Father, Harold Donald Smith, stepmothers Rose Smith and Claudia Smith both of Florida, Mother Clare Overcash of Lincoln and one son, Daniel John Reeves.
