Dixie Lee Pierce Lovejoy, 75, of Hordville died Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her home. Graveside services were Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard. Burial of ashes will be in the Harvard Cemetery.

Dixie Lee Pierce Lovejoy
Dixie was born on October 5, 1948 in Hastings to Cleo and Margaret (Johnson) Vickrey. She grew up in the Edgar, Superior, and Glenvile areas and moved to Harvard at age 10. She then attended Harvard Schools.
She married Gerald Pierce in 1965 in Harvard. In 1966, they moved to Germany as Gerald was in the Army. They lived there until 1969. In 1971, they moved back to Harvard and then to Hastings where the couple fostered some children for a couple years. Dixie did alterations for a few stores and eventually opened her own store, Dixie’s House of Sewing. She moved to Florida for a year, then back to Harvard, and finally to Hordville where she worked at Champion Homes in York until her disability forced her to retire.
She married Ed Lovejoy in 1999. Ed passed in January of 2015. She is survived by two sons- Billy Joe Pierce of Orlando, FL; Curtis Pierce of Hordville; daughter- Patty (Todd) Schlachter of Hastings; step sons- Chris (Deb) Lovejoy of Central City; Jack (Jennifer) Lovejoy of Polk; and Matt (Laura) Lovejoy of Central City; brother- Ronald Lewellyn of Hastings; sisters- Jody (Bob) Krous of North Carolina and Diana (Jerry) Johnson of Harvard; 8 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one step great great grandchild.
In laws- Carolyn Kohl, Vicky Thomas, Linda Lambert, Randy Lovejoy, Dave Thomas, Louis Lambert, and Nancy Lovejoy.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husbands- Gerald and Ed; brother- Richard (Skip) Lewellyn; brother in law- Ken Kohl.
