Corinne France (Burke) Newman, 82 of Central City died Monday, July 22, 2024 at Cottonwood Estates in Central City. Memorial services will be held at a later date in San Diego, California.

Corinne France (Burke) Newman

Corinne was born on December 20, 1941 to Harold and LaVerne (Peterson) Burke in San Diego, California. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.

She attended school in the San Diego area, Graduating from Chula Vista High School in 1959.

On June 27, 1959, she and Tom Newman were married at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in National City, California. They were the parents of 4 sons: Tim of Central City, Jeff of Phoenix Arizona, Matt of Washington State and Gregory who died at birth.

Tom and Corinne lived in several towns in California, moved to Prescott Arizona and in 1983 became Central Citians opening and managing Waffles and More for many years.

Corinne loved to make quilts, and made many for family and friends. She bowled for several years and belonged to a Bunco group. She loved decorating her home, going shopping and spending time with her family.

Her Husband, Tom, died in 2020. She is survived by her sons, her sister Ellen Roscoe, brother Terry Burke, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
