Sharon was then united in marriage to Gary Jones on May 13, 1960 in Hordville. They then made their home in Clay Center, where she worked for Clay County Sheriff’s Department for several years. They then moved back to Central City where she worked for KZ-100 radio station. Following her retirement, Sharon remained in Central City.

Sharon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Polk, and while in Clay Center was a member of the Miss’s CC Club for many years. Her greatest love was getting to spend time with her family, especially helping to raise her grandchildren, and later being called “Gigi” by her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, landscaping, and working with her flowers. She also enjoyed animals, especially her several dogs throughout the years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lisa (John) Rose of Central City and Lani (Stacey) Sawyers of Central City, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She also had two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother.
