Celebration of life service for David H. Plants, 73, of Central City will be held at a later date in Lincoln. David passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

David was born on August 1, 1950 in Omaha to Clark Ardean and Lucille Elaine (Fiebig) Plants. He attended school in Loup City, graduating in 1968. After high school, David served in the United States Navy for 6 years. After his military service he studied electronic engineering at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His skills for electronics led to careers at Data General in Grand Island and both Senior Technologies and Stanley Health Care solutions in Lincoln, retiring in 2016.

David married Sally Lynn Eno (Billie) on August 11, 1979. They lived in Grand Island for a few years after marriage before returning to Lincoln. In 2008 they moved to Staplehurst and moved to Central City in 2019. Throughout his life, David enjoyed many hobbies including camping, bird watching, enjoying nature, traveling, model trains, tinkering with electronics, and music.

He is survived by his spouse Sally/Billie Plants of Central City, children Justin (Beth) Plants of Lincoln, Jessica (Tristan) Gudvangen of Norfolk, Amy (Chris) Plants-Novich of Elkhorn, 3 grandchildren: Winsome, Owen, and Natalie, brother Carl (Carolyn) Plants of Lincoln, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clark and Lucille.
