June 20, 1949 – August 27, 2022

At the age of 73, Carol passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Ambassador Health of Omaha. She was born on June 20, 1949, in Tilden, Nebraska, to Florence (Harvey) and Peter Downs, the second of five children. She married Dennis L. Christensen on June 7, 1969, and had one daughter, Michelle Christensen. They resided in Chapman, Nebraska until a job transfer caused the family to move to St. Charles Illinois. After the passing of her husband, she moved back to Nebraska to be closer to family.

She enjoyed bowling and was active with many different bowling leagues throughout her lifetime. She was involved with the Naomi Circle at her church. She loved to scrapbook and do stain-glass work. She will be remembered as a very thoughtful and caring soul, who always had a smile to share.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Christensen; parents, Florence (Harvey) and Peter Downs; brother, Robert Downs; brother-in-law, Kenneth Christensen; nephew, Justin Steskal. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Christensen; siblings, Larry (Sandy) Downs, Ken (Mary Ann) Downs, and LaDonna Downs; and several nieces and nephews.
