Wichita State University has announced the names of 3,430 students who were on the WSU Dean’s Honor Roll for spring 2024. To be included on the dean’s honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Nebraska Corn Board (NCB) began the new fiscal year on July 1, which brings new programs funded by the checkoff for the 2024-2025 year. With a strategic plan in place through 2027, the goals of the checkoff rely on the main objectives of the plan aligning with the four main pillars of NCB including promotion, education, market development and research. A sample of funded programs in the four areas are outlined below.

Since many agricultural events take place during the summer, now is the perfect time for the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) to remind livestock owners to protect their animals and to keep them healthy, especially livestock participating in shows and competitions.

The 29th annual Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Lone Tree Days Celebration boasted many of its traditional events – parade, fireworks, Teddy Bear picnic, sidewalk sales – but saw the addition of such new ideas as a home-based business and craft fair and a re-imagination of the annual Relay for Life. A group of parents, athletes, and planners gathered to dedicate the new burnished metal sign at the Central City Ball Complex at South Park.
