Tradition and generations of hard work were the highlights of Sunday night at the Merrick County Fair, as two local families were honored for by Ak-Sar-Ben and the Merrick County Fair Board for marking 100 years of consecutive land ownership in the county. The first award of the evening went to Marilyn (Holtorf) Kyes the second award was given to the Friedrichsen family from Palmer.

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met June 20, 2024, for the final meeting of the 2022-2024 bienniium, at Miletta Vista Winery near St. Paul, Nebraska. Members were greeted at 11:00 a.m. by member Theda VanHorn and President Lois Wegner. Luncheon orders were taken by the staff before the meeting started.
