New hospital opening, top R-N story for 2022

Body As we closed the chapter on the year 2021 there was much excitement around our community and beyond. Moving into 2021 brought with it a chance to return to a new normal after a tough 2020, but it also brought with it plenty of growth and new facilities in our community.
Headline News In a year of big construction projects coming to an end, one still remains as the Merrick County Historical Museum is still a work in progress. In June the project received good news in the form of a grant as part of the Shovel-Ready Capital Recovery and Investment Act that aided projects impacted by the pandemic.

Secret Santa gifts 200,000 tabs for charity

Body ‘Tis the season of giving and last Friday the giving spirit was in full force at Archer Credit Union in Central City. Though the generosity of a secret Santa, who wished to remain anonymous, Sarah Campa was surprised with a birthday gift that was very dear to her heart.

CCPD takes part in holiday campaign

Body The Central City Police Department will join a nationwide ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ traffic enforcement campaign beginning Friday, December 16, 2022, and will continue through Sunday, January 1, 2023.
