Husker Volleyball comes to town

After months of waiting and over a year of planning the time has finally come for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Cornhusker volleyball team to come to Central City. The excitement is sure to build as we move closer with preparations to the Bison Activity Dome floor beginning on Thursday.

Supervisors commit to long-term care

For the better part of a year now a large elephant has lived on the third floor of the Merrick County Courthouse. Each Merrick County Board of Supervisors meeting that elephant in the room is what the future of long-term care in Merrick County looks like.

Two Central City girls will represent Nebraska in America’s National Teen-Ager Scholarship Pageant in Nashville Tennessee after Jeralee Shotkoski and Brooke herbig were crowned Miss Nebraska Senior Teen-Ager and Junior Teen-Ager respectively.

CCPD participates in grant

The Central City Police Department participated in the “National U Drive U Text U Pay” high-visibility enforcement grant from April 3-9, 2023. The police department had four officers work 40 over-time hours with four citations issued and 12 contacts made..
