Body This past Sunday at the fairgrounds, 4-H Clubs from both Central City and Palmer combined their efforts for a special clean-up project for Grandpa Dave’s Playground located next to the Beef Barn.

Body On Wednesday May 17th, friends and colleagues gathered at Prairie Creek Winery to celebrate Ray Huggett on his retirement from the Merrick Medical Center Board of Trustees, where he has recently served as chairman.

Body A few short years ago Thomas and Rachel Hermansen started their journey as the owners of Wild Roots Greenhouse and Market in Central City. They have grown plants and a family all while making large renovations, starting a farmers market and much more.

Body In an impressive show of acumen, a trio of seventh-grade students from Central City Middle School in Nebraska turned a fictitious $100,000 into $108,569 in just one semester, securing first place in the statewide Stock Market Game.

Body The Planting Season for 2023 is well underway, with some farmers able to get started early in the season. However, due to continuing drought and high interest rates, farmers come into the 2023 season with some challenges both old and new.

Body Central City letter carrier Dave Benner, with the assistance of Chris Benner, collected non-perishable food items as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers National Food Drive. 700 pounds of food were collected by the Central City Post Office.
