Norma Ann Holtorf, 80, of Hordville, passed away on September 23, 2026, in Central City.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville, with PMA Jan Anderson officiating.

Burial was in the Hordville Cemetery. A luncheon followed at the Hordville Events Center. Memorials are suggested to the Hordville Cemetery Fund. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral. com.

Norma was born on April 20, 1946, in Ewing, to William and Leona (Hassebrook) Ziems.

Norma was baptized and confirmed in the Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater. She grew up on her family’s farm and attended a country school, graduating from Ewing High School in 1964.

She graduated from Grand Island School of Business in 1965. While living in Grand Island she met her roommate’s brother, Marx Holtorf.

Norma and Marx were married on October 17, 1965, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater.

Marx and Norma made their home near Hordville, where they farmed and raised their children, Linda and Kevin. Norma enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising flowers. Norma also enjoyed genealogy and compiled several family history books.

She did not enjoy raising hogs all that much. She also enjoyed traveling, going to various locations around the United States, including Hawaii, as well as Europe, Australia, and several trips to Central America and the Caribbean.

She made many great friends along the way.

Norma was a member of Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville.

She served as president of Fridhem’s chapter of WELCA for many years. Among the various activities she participated in with WELCA was making quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

She was an original member of the social club, Homemakers on the Move.

Norma is survived by her husband, Marx, of Hordville; her son, Kevin (Sue), of Marquette; and her brothers, David (Donna) and Dennis (Donna) of Ewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Linda.
