A true tongue-twister to start
I don’t think this is earthshattering news, but if there is one thing that all newspapers fret over, it is correctly spelling names.
When I purchased my first newspaper and moved to Elm Creek, I soon discovered that there were four different spellings of the surname “Meyer”—Meier, Myer, Meyer, and Myers. If that doesn’t throw a wrinkle into the proofreading process, then I don’t know what will.
