At the close of the 2015-16 school term, Central City received a formal invitation to join the LouPlatte Conference, a conference that consists primarily of Class C-1 and Class C-2 schools. For many years Central City has been one of the two smallest schools in the Class B-dominant Central Conference. Central City school officials have until January 17, 2017 to make a decision.
