Each year roaming the sidelines at various sporting events you can find Josh Salinas who proudly serves our community as an Athletic Trainer through his employment with Bryan Merrick Medical Center. Over the course of his time in the community, Salinas has worked with many athletes to get them back in the game following an injury.

Josh is a Board-Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) born and raised in Omaha. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training in December of 2012, and then a Master’s of Arts Degree in Exercise Science in May of 2015. During his time as an ATC, he’s had the opportunity to provide medical coverage for a wide variety of events, including the World Grand Prix volleyball championships and Olympic Swim Trials.

In August of 2016, he was hired on as the ATC for Merrick Medical Center, and has been providing medical coverage at Central City High School during that time, and provides outreach services to Nebraska Christian. He is very passionate about helping his athletes perform their best, especially in the weight-room where he can often be seen doing a portion of the day’s workout with the student athletes. His favorite part about the work he does is the relationships he gets to build with his student athletes, parents, coaches and community members.
