Richard L. Galusha, 84, of Central City, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Litzenberg Memorial Long Term Care after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services were on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Mark Hartley officiating. Visitation was held on Monday, from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will be held at the Central City Cemetery. The family requests everyone to come in casual attire.

com. Richard Lee Galusha was born on June 28, 1938 in Central City to Elmer and Violet (Sawyers) Galusha. He grew up in Central City and attended Central City High School.

Richard worked with his father and his brother at their family-owned business, Community Sale and gas station from a very young age. He got his auctioneer’s license and became an auctioneer for the community sale. Richard also worked for Christensen Cattle Co. and DeBruce Grain. Even after his retirement, he continued to be very active with the community sale. He loved going to auctions and raising cattle. He could take lame or sick cattle and nurse them back to health. Richard planted a large garden every spring and enjoyed tending to it and sharing his harvest with friends, family, and relatives. As he approached the end of his life, he enjoyed sitting in his chair and watching the birds.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; Kathy of Central City, son; Richie Galusha of Grand Island, daughters; Patty (Mike) Dobesh of Wood River, Shannon (Paul) Trammell of Barstow, CA, Ami Galusha of Central City and daughters; Cecelia (Scott) Moran of Central City and Brenda (Randle) Kyle of Central City, as well as 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and one brother; Harry Galusha of Central City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law; Betty (Dwaine) Nelson and son; Billy Galusha.
