Supervisors commit to long-term care

“I know a lot of people don’t feel the county should be in healthcare; but in order to keep this facility here, protect our beds, our employees who work over there and the residents we need to stay involved in this.”
For the better part of a year now a large elephant has lived on the third floor of the Merrick County Courthouse. Each Merrick County Board of Supervisors meeting that elephant in the room is what the future of long-term care in Merrick County looks like. Tuesday morning the discussion continued, but a large step was taken in securing elderly care within the community.
