Thursday night shopping kicks off
Last Thursday brought with it a new and exciting opportunity to get out and shop local here in Central City.
Thanks to the support of various local retail businesses, consumers were given the opportunity to shop under the Thursday night lights as participating locations opted to stay open late and welcome shoppers.
The first week is now in the books and many have already considered the night a success. The shopping fun is sure to ramp up as we make our way closer to the holiday shopping season, but good buys can already be found all across Central City.
“After the first week of Thursday Night Lights I visited with participating business owners and the response was great. Several businesses saw an increase in foot traffic and sales,” says Magnolias Boutique Co-Owner and Chamber Board Member, Courtney Root. “One of our goals of Thursday Night Lights is to bring awareness of the items available in our small community. You don’t have to run to a big box store to get it, you can find it right here in Central City.”
The week also paired well with the mission of the Central City Area Chamber of Commerce who has worked hard to promote the Bison Bucks program in recent years.
“It is also our hope to bring awareness to the use of BISON BUCKS,” adds Root. “With the support of the Chamber of Commerce, we are able to provide an incentive for shopping and using BISON BUCKS as your form of payment. During Thursday Night Lights if you shop participating business and use the BB to pay you can enter to win $50 in BISON BUCKS. They spend like cash, so why not?
“Over all we are excited to see what the futures hold for Thursday Night Lights, with more community participation and more businesses jumping on board each week! Watch for a different business spotlight each week!”
Today offers another great opportunity to get out and shop local at many great Central City businesses including the spotlighted business of the week, The Wishing Well.
