We are past the average frost-free date, and soil temperatures on bare soil are in the mid-50s. It is safe to plant warm season vegetables, like tomatoes and cucumbers, and most perennial flowers. While they can be planted throughout May, and some seed germinates and grows quicker as soil temperatures become even warmer, it is fine to plant most anytime in May.
